Odds & ends: The "odds and ends" section of our website highlights some of the lighter and funnier moments involving the Swissvale Volunteer Fire Department and it's members.
December 12, 2004: Breaktime! Thomas our hose dummy and Jim decide it's breaktime. Thomas said he learned everything he knows from his Uncle Jim.
December 11, 2004: The SVFD would like to thank Mark Lisovich for donating his "family truckster" to us for training. Mark is a former member of the SVFD, and felt the old girl would be safe in our hands. Thanks again Mark, we hope you like the modifications we made!
November 29, 2004: Ron still hasn't finished that fire report (see below for more on that story). Agitated at his inability to type, he decided to put up the ol' department Christmas tree. Bets are being taken to see how long it will take before it falls over or shorts out!
November 24, 2004: Battalion Chief Bob Soderberg was photographed sleepwalking again on a recent call in Hawkins Village. Those late night calls are rough, eh?
November 23, 2004: Firefighter Ron Fialkovich is pictured here learning how to use the new computer system. Ron types a whopping 5 words per minute, and hopes to have the report he's working on done before the end of the year!
